Farmer Feature: Bamford Family Farms

By 4 January 2019

Produced by three generations of the Bamford family, Bamford Family Farms brings local, award-winning, California Olive Oil Council-certified extra virgin olive oil to Chico via the Wednesday morning Farmer’s Market (coming soon to Saturdays!). Though not certified, their olive oils are organic, no spray, and locally grown and pressed in Oroville. They’ve been at the Market for about a year, but have been farming in Table Mountain grown olive groves that are over 100 years old! They’ve been making olive oil (some award winning!) for about three years now.  They also humanely raise pastured beef – it is not uncommon to see their cattle grazing underneath their Mission olive trees, further displaying their balanced, eco-friendly farming practices.

They offer a wide variety of heirloom olive oils, from their award winning early, mid, and late harvest olive oils to co-pressed olive oils made with fresh fruits and herbs, including basil, rosemary, jalapeno, blood orange, meyer lemon, and so much more!

While they do have a tasting room in Oroville, you can visit the Chico Certified Farmers’ Market and have the opportunity to taste each of these buttery, smooth flavors this Wednesday!
