Farmer Feature: Ha Lee Moua
Ha Lee Moua farm has been growing and selling produce at the Chico Farmers Market for over 20 years. Odds are you’ve already purchased some vegetables or a bouquet of flowers from their stand! Stop by the Wednesday or Saturday markets to say hi to Ha and his mom Mai.
Ha Lee Moua farm was originally located in Dayton, but just a couple of years ago the family moved their farm to some land on the outskirts of Chico. Ha, his mother Mai, and dad Yang tend to their 9-acre farm to grow seasonal produce year-round.
This family-run business offers a large variety of produce, with current offerings including sunflowers, carrots, red potatoes, bell peppers, green onions, squash, and more.
As the season changes, Ha says you can expect to see more broccoli, romanesco, cauliflower in rainbow colors, fennel, spinach, salad greens, cilantro, beets, daikon, turnips, and radishes.
Give them a visit next time you’re at the market!
