Market Feature: Armstrong Chocolate Company!
If you love chocolate (and of course you do!) you’ll love the newest addition to the Chico Saturday Farmers’ Market: Armstrong Chocolate Company! Making micro-batch, single origin dark chocolate bars, as well as drinking chocolate (a European influenced drinkable chocolate, served hot or frozen) this local company is doing everything right!
Matt, owner and chocolate maker extraordinaire, has a deep love and passion for chocolate. He first saw chocolate being made while visiting Panama, then moved to Hawaii and got his first glimpse of cacao. After that, he was hooked on chocolate making and started a chocolate cafe with a friend Santa Cruz. After a couple years there they sold the business and Matt partnered with someone in Denver to continuing making, learning, and developing his skills in chocolate.
Matt has since returned back to the Chico/Paradise area to pursue chocolate making on a small, local level and has been making chocolate here for about five years. Large wholesale accounts don’t interest him – He is interested in connecting with the community, working directly with customers, and providing chocolate education and transparency to consumers – everything you could want at your local Farmers’ Market! So come down this Saturday and chat, taste, and learn about all things chocolate!
