Saeturn Farms is a generational family farm. We chatted with Chris, whose Mother and Father run and own the business, which was started by his grandpa. They’ve been at the Chico Certified Farmers’ Market since 1995, selling produce grown just down the road in Gridley, Ca.
Seaturn prides themselves on selling a little bit of everything, but their staple produce are berries – think perfectly ripe and sweet blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries!
They also sell a variety of “odd” produce, such as chinese long beans, luffa (yes, the vegetable that grows up to be a loofah sponge!), bitter melon, and okra. The best part about Saeturn Farms is how friendly and informative they are! If you want to know anything about these rare produce items, they are willing and eager to share facts and information with you!
Saeturn is seasonal market stand, however – they’re at market from April to around October or November – so make sure to come down and get your fill of the summer staples, and then impress your friends with your unique produce knowledge!
