Isern & Sons is a small, family-owned and run business specializing solely in olive oil. Owners Lola and Antonio moved here from southern Spain and began their farm with olive trees imported from the city of Córdoba in their home country. They have been producing olive oil since 2007, and the only place they sell their product is at the Saturday morning Chico Certified Farmers Market. They only sell in one place and aren’t interested in mass production to ensure the olive oil they make is of the highest quality. It’s truly a labor of love, and results in some really incredible olive oil.
The Isern & Sons stall might be unassuming from afar, but if you look closer you’ll notice it’s covered in awards. Boasting awards from both local fair competitions to best in show medals from the International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition in L.A., their olive oil is truly second to none. Firstly, it’s always fresh – the olive oil that is sold is always made from olives harvested that year. This results in a superior flavor profile, smooth and rich up front with some spice on the finish. Though not officially certified, Isern & Sons also follow all organic practices, ensuring their product is as fresh and pure as possible. They offer their Extra Virgin Olive Oil both plain and with a lemon flavor.
