Owned and operated by James, Saeturn Farms has been at the Chico Certified Farmers’ Market since 1995 (that’s 26 years!) selling produce grown just down the road in Gridley, Ca.
Seaturn prides themselves on selling a little bit of everything, but their staple produce are berries – think perfectly ripe and sweet blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries! Strawberries are here now with everyone else joining us in the near future.
They also sell variety of seasonal veggies. Right now you’ll find fresh garlic, green onions, spring onions, cauliflower and broccoli, lettuce, fresh herbs, and more. Come summer you’ll start to see tomatoes, summer squash, cucumbers – you name it!
They have been known to also sell a variety of less common produce, such as Chinese long beans, luffa (yes, the vegetable that grows up to be a loofah sponge!), bitter melon, and okra. The best part about Saeturn Farms is how friendly and informative they are! If you want to know anything about these rare produce items, they are willing and eager to share facts and information with you!
Saeturn Farms is a seasonal market stand, however – they’re only at market from April to around December – so make sure to come down and get your fill of the spring staples and some of the first berries of the season!
